Installing Flash Player 10 Debug on 64bit Ubuntu
I just finished installing the Flash Player 10 debugger on my 64bit Ubuntu machine. All props go to “Me and Ubuntu,” with the article located here:

It involves using nspluginwrapper and some other libraries to emulate a 32bit environment for Flash Player to run in. Totally rad.

Hey TK,
You could just use the Adobe x86_64 version for Linux:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/libflashplayer-10.0.32.18.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz
It wasn't available when that blog entry was written, and it appears to mostly work for me.

Yeah, I was using that before. However, I need the debug player, not just the regular one
The regular 64bit player works great out of the box, I just needed the debug one, so I had to do the whole "nspluginwrapper" thing to work around the plugin being 32 bit.
On another note, the 32 bit debug player is working great, even in Google Chromium, which is surprising. I'm running a full 64bit Ubuntu with 64bit Firefox and 64bit Chromium, so I'm really impressed by nspluginwrapper.

Hey, that is awesome. You achieved exactly what I am trying to do now. Your success gives me hope. But I seem at a loss to figure out what I need to do. I installed nspluginwrapper and tried to use it to install the plugin but it complained about libraries…..
Do I need to uninstall firefox and install a 32 bit version. arghh, nspluginwrapper doesn't have good docs… I suppose if I keep atit I'll figure it out.

@AH, if you just follow the link I posted, it's worked perfectly for me on a few different computers. Both machines are 64-bit Ubuntu 9.04, and I haven't had any problems with FP10 Debugger. I didn't have to install 32 bit Firefox, either. Just copy and paste the commands in the linked post and you'll be on your way to getting this done.

Great Thanx man! I was looking for hours to get the FlashPlayer 10 Debugger work.
For all how also need this: you have to download the:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/10/flash_player_10_linux_dev.tar.gz
and follow the script…
For all others: There is curerntly no debugger version of FlashPlayer 10 for 64Bit.
If you want it you have to got this way.

Glad to hear it worked out for you! Just be forewarned, sometimes Flash Player will crash, but it isn't anything super bad. Being able to debug is just too nice to go without
