About

Who is TK!?

I’m a pretty normal dude, living a pretty normal life in Southern California at the moment. I’m a proud husband, a free software advocate, a developer/programmer, system/network admin, hacker, Linux user, freestyle-walker, photographer, musician, and I’m also a man. I basically do way too much, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I speak Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash (and other sh-compliant shells), Java, C, JavaScript, SQL, CSS, and more, I think.

Flash Platform Developer

I have spent the majority of my programming career working on Flash Platform technologies, everything from Flash Player proper to Adobe AIR to media servers and more. I have worked with Flex 2, 3, and 4, Spring ActionScript, Papervision3D, and many more libraries. I like design patterns and pride myself on doing good work. I’ve been working on Flash Platform since 2005 (years_experience = currentYear – 2005), way back in the days of ActionScript 2.

Within scope of Flash Platform development, but quickly expanding outside of that, is media server development.

Media Server Administrator / Developer

I’ve build a wide variety of applications for a wide variety of media servers including Flash Media Server, Wowza Media Server, and Red5 Media Server. I’ve built extremely integrated media server applications that provide back-end persistence and caching for remote method invocations over RTMP and HTTP/AMF. I know my way around load-balancing and clustering these media servers, especially Wowza.

Enterprise Java Developer

Yep. Hibernate, Spring, Velocity, SLF4J, Logback, Restlet/REST, etc. Love it.

Linux User Fanatic

Server administration for OpenSSH, Apache HTTPD, MySQL, and more. Formatting hard-drives, setting up network interfaces, firewallin’, security, etc. I love Linux. Ubuntu is my base OS of choice as a server, but for desktops, I’m really quite partial to Linux Mint.

Basically, I do a lot of stuff. Please feel free to contact me here or on oDesk about any jobs you might need me for. English is my first language, and I have a big variety of skillsets that I’m pretty sure you’d like to have on your next project. :)
