HTML5 Doctor just posted an excellent article complete with this chart for determining how best to use new HTML5 semantic tags such as <article>, <section>, etc. I’ve reencoded the orignal PDF as a PNG and attached it here. While semantics are hotly debated, this at the very least should serve as a good starting point for site layout in HTML5.
